Silicon Valley Democratic Fundraising: Rejoinder with Leah Feiger on the “Democracy” of the November 2016 Election
There is a person named Leah Feiger. The disastrous presidential debate caused Democrats to slow down their fund-raising. With a new candidate set to take Biden’s place, will left wing Silicon Valley donors still begrudgingly fund Trump’s campaign? David Gilbert will discuss the legality of the coup with me later in the show. But first, I’m here with WIRED senior writers Makena Kelly and Lauren Goode, who have been reporting on the democratic fundraising situation in Silicon Valley. Welcome back, Makena.
Vice President Harris is running immediately and told everyone that she will win the election.

Frank Bruni, a contributor Opinion writer, hosted a discussion on Tuesday with a Democratic state senator and a political strategist to discuss events of the past week in American politics.
Frank Bruni: Thank you for joining me on what will, no exaggeration, go down as one of the most fascinating, disorienting, consequential months in American political history. I am not sure if I will wake up and realize that it was a dream, the debate, the attempted assassination, President Biden’s statement, and the swift ascent of Vice President Kamala Harris. I feel at least slightly more hopeful than a week ago that Donald Trump may be stopped on Nov. 5, but dear God am I nervous. Explain the magnitude of your optimism or your panic to me.
Simon Rosenberg: I am very excited about what is happening in our party. The transition from Biden to Harris has been remarkably seamless and successful. Her initial remarks felt strong, powerful and clearly her words, not things cribbed from the previous campaign. All of us are now very optimistic about going out and winning this election.
